Silent retreat 22nd-25th of February

Spend a long weekend in silence amidst the lush nature around the Glomma River. Opaker Farm is situated in a peaceful cultural landscape surrounded by old forest. We put away all phones, reading materials, and other distractions. No talking or communication, either with each other or the outside world. The goal is to be present, within ourselves and with nature.
The program includes guided meditation, simple yoga, and an introduction to the basic philosophy. In addition to this, you get a one-hour coaching session with Jens online before the silent retreat included in the price.
During breaks, you can take a walk in the forest or simply relax. No prior experience is required, and there’s no goal to achieve or perform anything. You are just meant to be, which can be challenging enough. We believe this is one of the healthiest challenges one can take.
We start on Friday with an information meeting and dinner before entering into silence. On Sunday afternoon, we come out of silence, with the opportunity to discuss the experience.

Our food filosophy:
Opaker Farm is an ecologic farm and  focuses on sustainability and organic farming. They strive to use the purest, organic ingredients, with a significant portion coming from the farm’s own production. The meals will be vegetarian.
Contact oda@opaker.no for allergies or special needs.

Accommodation:

There are double and single rooms. If you book a double room and come alone, we will assign you a room with someone of the same gender. You can get a single room for an additional fee of 1200 NOK. You can rent bedding and towels for 200 NOK for all nights or bring your own. Let us know in advance if you want to rent.

Transport and arrival:
Take the train to Kongsvinger station and we  can pick you up from the station for 200 NOK each way. Kongsvinger is 1. 20 minutes from Oslo central station and 1.40 minutes from Oslo airport.
If you drive your own car and are willing to take passengers, let us know. In that case, we’ll connect you with others who might need a ride.
The address is Opaker 58, 2260 Kirkenær. Arrival is between 17:00 and 19:00.
On the way back, it’s often easier to share a ride with other participants, so we recommend waiting to buy a train ticket until Sunday.

About the teacher:
Jens is trained at Hridaya Yoga and has worked as an instructor at their center in Mexico. He has a deep meditation practice and has completed several month-long silent retreats. Recently he also completed a 10-day dark room retreat. In addition, he is keen to integrate yoga philosophy into all aspects of life, so that yoga becomes a holistic lifestyle. He regularly holds courses in meditation and basic yoga philosophy.
Together with Henry James Wold he leads the podcast Yogaboble.
Jens has the natural ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity and enthusiasm and he will during the retreat hold lectures on various relevant subjects.
He tries to make his yoga classes as meditative as possible and sets up the classes so that you go inward. Plenty of time is therefore spent resting and finding peace in each position. The body is used as a meditation anchor and you are guided to turn your attention to the senses and the experience of the moment.
